The Little Wall That Could: Rethinking What You Really Need for Virtual Production

After hosting our recent demo day, I noticed a recurring disconnect: the assumption that virtual production (VP) requires massive LED volumes, towering ceilings, and six-figure budgets just to get started. That’s simply not the case.

We’ve been using our 124-panel curved ROE Black Pearl V2 (2.6 pixel pitch) wall—a practical, mid-sized setup with modest ceiling clearance—for everything from content testing to delivering final pixel for broadcast. It’s not a mega-volume, but it’s a workhorse. We’ve pulled off car process shots, music videos, branded content, and more.

Now with Chaos Arena in-house, our capabilities have grown—but the heart of the message remains:

Virtual Production is Accessible.

You don’t need a $60k–$100k per day budget to create stunning, high-quality content. You need the right team, a solid workflow, and a creative approach to solving problems.

Yes, I’ve had the privilege to shoot on some of the biggest stages in the world—and those experiences are amazing when the budget allows. But let’s be honest: those budgets are rare. They’re the exception, not the rule.

So here’s my invitation:

Don’t discount VP just because you think your budget can’t handle it.

Talk to me or one of my team members. Whether you’re looking to test content, prep for a larger stage, or even shoot on our wall in North Hollywood—we’re here to collaborate and help you find a solution.

Big walls. Little walls. No walls yet.

We believe every production deserves access to the tools of the future.

✨California VFX friends—this matters.✨

šŸ“¢ California VFX Needs Support—Take Action Today!

California remains the only major VFX hub without a dedicated VFX incentive—despite being the backbone of the global industry.

The proposed increase of the state film incentive program to $750M/year is a big step forward, but VFX needs a standalone incentive to remain competitive and keep jobs in California.

Strengthening California’s VFX industry strengthens the entire film and post-production ecosystem. Let’s make it happen.
