TechWeek Recap, AI Buzz & A Big Announcement šŸŽ¬āœØ

From Tech Week breakthroughs to new career opportunities (and a big announcement from Jess) this week is all about building what’s next for our creative community.

Hi friends,

Wow… what a week!

TechWeek in LA was buzzing. So many events, so many familiar faces, and honestly, it just felt energizing to be surrounded by so many of you passionate about the future of tech and entertainment. The optimism around AI wasn’t just palpable, it was loud in the best way. From conversations about workflow innovations to people finally getting how AI can support the creative process, it was the kind of energy we love to see.

To those I saw: you looked amazing. :)
To those I missed: blame the rain. (I know, I’m a Chicago girl… but clearly I’m officially LA now because the weather fully dictated my schedule. šŸ˜…)

To my fellow VFX professionals, I’d be honored to have your support.
Let’s build the future of visual storytelling, together.

Tech Week Recap

āš™ļø Tech Week Recap: Innovation in Motion

What a week! From AI-powered workflows to immersive production demos, Tech Week reminded us just how fast the future is unfolding… and how creative collaboration keeps pushing it forward.

In this recap video, I’m taking you behind the scenes of the panels, tech showcases, and spontaneous ā€œahaā€ moments that made this week unforgettable. Huge thanks to everyone who showed up to connect, share, and dream big with us.

Because the truth is… technology doesn’t replace creativity; it amplifies it. šŸ’«

šŸ’” What’s AI in 5 and Why You’ll Want In

If you’re anything like me, you’ve probably hit that wall of ā€œAI overwhelm.ā€ Between LinkedIn posts about yet another ChatGPT plugin and new tools launching daily, it’s almost impossible to keep up… and even harder to figure out what’s actually useful in your workflow.

That’s exactly why we created AI in 5.

This year, we’re doing something different… think of it as part show-and-tell, part real-time download. We’re giving folks 5 minutes each to share one AI tool they actually use and love. No fluff. No sales pitches. Just real people showing how they’re integrating AI into their work… and what the outcome looks like.

We’ll be hosting two one-hour sessions across two days… curated, high-impact, and packed with bite-sized demos.

Here’s how it works:
• Each presenter gets 5 minutes to demo a tool that’s changed the game for them — it could be for writing, visuals, data, video editing, client proposals… you name it.
• You don’t have to work for the tool or company. You just have to use it and be able to show us how it works.
• Walk us through what it is, how you’re using it, and most importantly — what it helped you create or accomplish.

The goal?
Everyone walks away with 3-5 new tools to try, inspired and a little more empowered to bring AI into their daily practice… no matter what industry they’re in.

This is about real adoption, real application, and real voices… not buzzwords.

If that sounds like your vibe, you can sign up to present at the link below, or simply tune in and watch. Whether you’re a founder, freelancer, creative, producer, or strategist… we want your POV.

We’ve seen firsthand how the right AI tools can 10x creativity, efficiency, and output. But the magic happens when we share the ones that actually work and support each other in learning how to use them well.

So let’s do that. Together.

Sign up, show up, and let’s make AI in 5 the most valuable 60 minutes of your week. Click here to apply!

AI in 5 isn’t about the future — it’s about what we can build right now.

šŸ”® Coming Up at Global Objects

VES Meetup | October 30 at Global Objects!
If you’re a member of the Visual Effects Society (VES), come join us at the Global Objects studio next week for a VES Meetup. These gatherings are all about connection… producers, artists, and technologists coming together to talk shop, share what’s working, and collaborate on the future of virtual production. Expect good conversation, great energy, and (as always) a few unexpected moments of inspiration.

šŸŽ¬ PRODUCTION SUMMIT 2025 | December 10-11, 2025

We’re gearing up for our biggest event of the year… Productions Summit 2025, happening this December. This year’s theme is all about reflection and projection: what worked, what didn’t, and where we’re headed next.

We’re currently curating our speaker lineup and panels, and we’d love to hear from you. Specifically, we’re looking for:

  • Speakers with a strong POV on innovation in production, post, and emerging tech

  • Panels exploring ā€œWhat Worked in 2025ā€ from creative workflows to cross-platform strategies

  • Forward-Looking Topics for 2026, including AI, virtual production, and the evolving creator economy

This year, we’re debuting a brand-new session format: AI in 5… a fast, TED-style showcase where speakers have five minutes to demo one AI tool.
Each mini-session will highlight:

  • What the tool is

  • How it works

  • How it’s being applied in real-world creative workflows

  • A quick live demo or output example

This is a space for makers, tinkerers, and innovators… people using AI not as a buzzword, but as a genuine extension of creativity. If that sounds like you, apply now to be part of the AI in 5 lineup.

šŸ’« Ready to Join Us?

If you’d like to attend, speak, or showcase your work, we’d love to have you be part of this next chapter.
šŸ‘‰ RSVP for the VES Meetup or apply to speak at Production Summit 2025 using the links below. Whether you’re presenting an AI breakthrough, leading a panel on creative innovation, or just coming to connect… you belong in this room.

Let’s make 2025 the year we build, share, and inspire… together.

šŸŽ¬ Let’s Talk Jobs: Supporting Our Creative Community

In some of my recent peer group meetings with the Television Academy and the Visual Effects Society, we’ve been having real conversations about what’s top-of-mind in the industry right now.

And honestly? The biggest throughline has been this: a lot of incredibly talented people are still looking for work.

Whether you’re in virtual production, post, VFX, development, or content strategy… it’s no secret that our industry is going through a major shift. And while we can’t fix it overnight, we can support each other more intentionally.

So here’s one small but meaningful way I want to help:

We’re opening up space in this newsletter to share job opportunities across the community. Whether it’s full-time, freelance, remote, or on set… if you know of anything hiring (or are hiring yourself), please send it my way.

I’ll make sure it gets visibility… because sometimes just seeing the right post at the right time is what helps someone land their next opportunity.

✨ We’ve got a few roles currently open at Global Objects (yes, we’re growing!) and I’ll be listing those as well.

Here’s a few roles open now:

Freelance Systems Technician – Synapse Virtual Production (Los Angeles, CA)
Join Synapse’s award-winning virtual production team to operate and maintain LED volumes, networking, and on-set systems for cutting-edge VP projects. $48/hr Ā· On-site Ā· Temporary

Senior Software Engineer, Stage – Eyeline Studios (Los Angeles, CA | Hybrid)
Lead software development for real-time and virtual production workflows at Eyeline, a Netflix-backed creative studio pushing the boundaries of cinematic technology. $120K–$210K Ā· Full-time Ā· Hybrid

So again:
If you know of a job, send it our way. If you need a job, keep checking here.

Let’s make this newsletter a hub for what’s happening — and help get good people back to doing great work.

Thank you for being part of this community.

We’ve had an incredible response so far, but there’s still time to get your voice on the stage!
If you’ve been meaning to submit for Production Summit 2025, consider this your nudge… applications close soon.

We’re especially looking for fresh perspectives and real-world case studies around:

  • AI and creative workflows

  • Virtual production and new pipeline breakthroughs

  • ā€œWhat Worked in 2025ā€ - lessons learned from this year’s projects

Whether you’re an emerging innovator or a seasoned producer, this is your chance to shape the conversation on what’s next in production.

šŸ’Œ That’s it for now…

As always, thank you for being part of this growing community… the innovators, dreamers, and doers who make all of this possible. There’s so much more ahead, from upcoming meetups to Production Summit announcements and new opportunities on the horizon.

Stay curious, stay connected, and keep building what’s next.
